Unsolved Case #31
Reference Number 01-05
Murdered August 25, 2000
Did you see Kristin Laurite in Arkansas? She drove a yellow and white 1971 "pop-up" Volkswagon Bus with two dogs, a black and white Border Collie and a tan Shepherd mix.
Kristen was moving from her mother's home in Scotch Plains, N.J. to California where she was to sign a lease on a home she loved. Her boyfriend was to meet her there the following month.
Kristin stopped her 1971 VW Bus at a rest stop at mile marker 109 on I-40 near Morrilton, Arkansas. She called her mom and told her she was only to stay 3 hours to rest and take care of her 2 dogs, Sativa, a shepherd mix, and Winter, a Border Collie. Kristin felt safe with the dogs, and only rested during the day, and drove at night. Her mother was the last to speak with her.
During the day on August 25, 2000, someone savagely stabbed her and left her on a bank of a pond 300 yards away. Someone at that rest stop saw Kristin and her dogs, and possibly the killer who did this.
